ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Sunday School classes meet at 9:45am. Visitors are always welcome in any of our classes.

Crossroads Young Adult Group: A brand new group for people between the ages of 22-35, married or single, is now meeting on Sunday mornings. Please join the Crossroads group every Sunday morning at 9:45 in Room 211 in the new Youth building. We are the first room on the right as you enter the Youth building from the gym side. Each week we will meet to catch up, plan mission and volunteer opportunities, fun nights out and focus on that week's study. Discovery: A group who seeks to grow through studying challenging books in a discussion format. Members value openness, diversity, mutual support, individual preparation & shared leadership. The current study is Marcus Borg's The Heart of Christianity". (Room 36)
Leaders: George Linfors, Margie Pokorney
Expressions: A class of couples and singles of mostly empty nesters who enjoy studying such topics as Bible study, spiritual growth and social issues. Sessions are marked by much discussion and interaction as “Expressions” says it all. Service projects, quarterly breakfasts and evenings out distinguish this class. Recent topics include the video series "Jesus: The New Way" and "Healthy Congregations." (Room 29)
Leaders: Lee & Diana Rainey, Reed & Carolyn Hilderbrand, Norm and Gwen Manning
Fellowship: This group of adults with grown children enjoys lessons on scripture and spirituality and regularly engages in mission service projects. Formats include using both lecture and video format. Members rotate teaching responsibilities. An occasional breakfast and an annual winter party provide fellowship opportunities. (Chapel, Room 28)

Focus on Scripture: A mixed class of married and single senior adults, the primary purpose of this class is to study the scriptures, discovering various interpretations and viewpoints with open discussion. The study for this spring and summer has been "The Death and Passion of Jesus". (Room 27)
Leader: Don Folk
The Rock: A class open to adults of all ages who seek new friends in a small group setting. From 30-somethings to 60-somethings, we enjoy fellowship with our families outside Sunday School as well. Recent studies include "The World-Shattering Ministry of Jesus" and Ray Vander Laan's "That the World May Know" video series, a geographical and historical survey of the lands and cultures of the biblical world, Marcus Borg's "The God We Never Knew" and Tony Campolo's "Curing Affluenza". Main focus is how to apply the wisdom of the Bible to life in an ever-changing world. (Room 32)
Leaders: Beth Griffiths, Chris and Cindy Delap
Journey: A class for adults ages 30s-40s who seek to grow in faith as they journey to apply God’s teachings to life. Recent studies include “Jesus and Prayer” and “The Ten Commandments.” Upcoming study will focus on aging parents. Quarterly family events and monthly “Adults’ Night Out” provide fellowship. (Room 30)
Leaders: Sheryl Brown, Art Dennis, Brian Barger
Joy: The class consists of mixed-aged adults (40-65) with emphasis on educational, social and missional projects. Lessons are led by class members or outside speakers. Recent studies concentrated on “The 13 Apostles," and "A New Christianity for a New World." (Room 33)
Leader: Alan Alsop
Life: This class is open to everyone and consists of couples in their 30s to 50s raising families of teenagers and college age. The Life class has used the Cokesbury Adult Bible Study quarterly as well as occasional diversions to such topics as Urban Ministry and “7 Habits of Highly Effective People.” Members rotate teaching responsibilities. Living Word: This class welcomes anyone hungry to know more about the Bible. It offers a focused study with open forum discussion, making Biblical application to today’s world. The group has begun a new interactive study on the Book of Genesis. (Room 7)
Leaders: Bruce Henning, Dean Freeman
Unity: Unity is one of our newest classes of adults in ages early 30s to early 50s with interest in fellowship, study and service/ missions. The class is open to newcomers as it continues to become a closely-knit group. Recent studies include the Lenten study, "Genesis of Grace" and "From Grief to Grace." (Room 34)
