Missions Day
Meet at the church for prayer and coffee. Then we’ll disburse to three missions:
- Habitat for Humanity (Painting the house that St. Stephen is building; 16 years and up only)
- Gleaning (Gleaning is the traditional Biblical practice of gathering crops that would otherwise be left in the fields to rot or be plowed under after harvest: Because the food is unmarketable, some growers allow crews of gleaners to pick what is left after harvest to donate to those who are needy. - Crisis Assistance Ministry (Sorting and inspecting clothes. Crisis' mission is to provide assistance and advocacy for people in financial crisis, helping them move toward self-sufficiency. Go to the Crisis Assistance website www.crisisassistance.org for more information).

Women’s Shelter at St. Stephen
St. Stephen will be sponsoring 10 women during the “crisis housing shortage” before Room in the Inn opens in December. We need many hands as we become family to 10 women for the week of NOVEMBER 5-11. We will prepare and serve dinner and breakfast, as well as transport these women to and from the Center of Hope each day during that week. In addition, we also need overnight hosts and help with some miscellaneous tasks. Church Treasure Sale to benefit missions.
We will be holding our first annual ‘Treasure’ Sale next April. All proceeds will be used for local missions. Before you throw out items that may be of use to others, consider holding onto them for our sale. Some examples if things to donate are furniture, household items, home decorations, baby items, sports equipment, electronics, anything for the garden, china, crystal, collectibles, art, accessories (purses, hats, belts), and even ‘ugly furniture’ that can be painted cottage chic.
