How to become a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church

We receive members into our congregation in four ways:

  1. Profession of Faith and Baptism for persons new to the Christian faith.
  2. Restoration for persons who have been baptized but now have no church membership.
  3. Transfer from another Christian denomination or from another United Methodist congregation for persons who have already been baptized.
  4. Affiliate and Associate Membership for persons who wish to worship and work with us, but retain their membership in a "home" congregation.

Please contact one of our pastors if you would like to talk about becoming a member of this congregation.

Considering Church Membership?
Each quarter, we offer a two-session membership orientation class led by our pastors. The class includes the background of Methodism and St. Stephen United Methodist Church, an overview of our particular beliefs and theological emphases, an orientation of our building, and an introduction to our various ministries and programs. The next class will be held Sunday, May 23 and Sunday, June 6 from 4-6pm. Please register by contacting the church office at 704-364-1824 or sueprudhomme@ststephenumc.net. Childcare is available.
