Love: Charlotte – St. Stephen Missions Day

Love Charlotte: St. Stephen’s Mission Day 2023 — Members and friends of St. Stephen United Methodist Church join together to be the literal embodiment of our vision: to be the hands, feet, and heart of Jesus Christ in our neighborhood and in Charlotte. This annual Missions Day is one of many ways we give back and serve the people of our community. Service opportunities this year will include Loaves & Fishes, Roof Above, Eastway Middle School, and more. Stay tuned for registration information.

Choose from one of five opportunities below…
1. Loaves & Fishes: Sorting/Packing Food
- Sort dry food items, pack boxes to be delivered to families in our community.
- Volunteers must be age 14+ — Great for families and youth!
- 9-11am at the Loaves & Fishes warehouse: 648 Griffith Rd., Ste. B (by Costco)
- Team Leader: Jack Rogers
2. Loaves & Fishes: Food Deliveries
- Deliver boxes of food and household supplies to families in our community
- Drivers must be age 21+ and have own car — Great for couples and families
- 10am-12pm, Pick up at the Loaves & Fishes warehouse: 648 Griffith Rd., Ste. B
- Team Leader: Jack Rogers
3. Roof Above: Making Bag Lunches
- Help make 300 bag lunches to deliver to Roof Above for those in need
- No age requirements — Great for families and those with mobility challenges
- 8:30-11am in the church gym
- Team Leaders: Todd & Melinda Mitchell
4. Deliver Sweet Treats
- Deliver a sweet treat (purchased by church) and card to those who recently lost a loved one and other special friends of the church
- No age requirements — Great for everyone
- Flexible on dates/times for deliveries, between Oct. 7-Nov. 23
- Team Leaders: Roger & Pam Wright
5. Eastway Middle School: Beautification Painting
- Join in painting the main entrance and cafeteria
- No age requirements — Great for everyone
- 8:20am-1pm at Eastway Middle, 1501 Norland Rd., near Evergreen Cemetery
